Why is organic skin care important to me?

This is a question many women ask themselves.  Let me give you the short answer.
According to Brenda Watson, the author of,  The Detox Strategy:

” In the U.S. alone there are between 75,000 and 100.000 chemicals in use, with an additional 1000 introduced into the environment each year.”

While your body has it’s own ability to detoxify and many ways of elimination, the toxic burden is more than our bodies can handle.

Why would you want to spend $50 on a skin care product that is just going to increase this toxic load?   You want skin care products that are actually designed by Mother Nature to rejuvenate your skin, not hurt your overall health.

The relationship between toxic chemicals in skin care and the idea of the quick fix, go hand in hand.  Many products that give you the immediate cure you want, also give you the long term pain you do not want.  I have spoke here before about acetone, being a classic example.  It does leave you skin clean and feeling tingly, however it is toxic to your entire system and will dry out be detrimental to your long term goals of having great looking skin for years to come.

Many products that claim, “non-toxic” are in fact, toxic.  The ingredients are right there on the package, look carefully, call the company and ask them what that ingredient is and google it.

I have received the USDA organic certification paperwork. It is 68 pages, it seems like a lot more! As I am working on this part of the fun, I will keep you informed. My next step is to plan a few days to fill out the forms.

I want people to really understand the complexity, the tremendous amount of work, and all the benefits to their skin, that this USDA certified organic status gives to them, us and the world.

To make the best organic skin care in the world, you have got to do something very different than the rest!

One of the most important reasons you want to use organic skin care, other than it actually works with your skin and your body to create beauty, health and harmony, and makes your skin radiant, is that it is good for the planet and the environment.

What if all the skin care companies in the world had farms instead of chemical plant factories?  How would that change the landscape?  How many acres of beautiful flowers and plants would that provide us?  How many gallons of chemical waste would that keep out of our streams, rivers, and oceans?  How many ugly polluting chemical factories would that eliminate?  How much more beautiful would that make our world?

I am just putting this scenario out there, I think it is interesting to ponder.  I live in a quasi-rural area of metro-Denver.  It use to be just rural, but it is developing and growing.  Luckily, I can still drive 10 miles in two directions in August and see thousands of acres of sunflowers sunning themselves to the East.  There is no more beautiful example of what I am talking about than that!  If you don’t know what I mean, you may want to get out the country this summer!

Let me get back to the most important reason you want organic skin care, you want to be beautiful naturally, organically.  You want effective skin care that really gives you the results you seek.  For example if you have acne, you want your pimples to go away.  This is done most effectively with witch hazel, which is a natural astringent, that is not drying but actually makes your pores smaller.  Tea tree oil, which is anti-bacterial;  and lavender, which is anti-septic and was used in hospitals as such prior to WWII.  Just to name a few proven clinically medicinal herbs that  work, as well as have over  10,000 years of empirical evidence.

Now, what good is it, if you use synthetic chemicals to cleanse your skin and toners with acetone?  Yes, for the moment, you could think my skin feels tingly and stripped of oil.  However, the long term effects are your skin being dried out, your body being toxic with poison–literally, acetone is used in many department store brands of toners and is really toxic, by anyone’s standards!

If you have wrinkles and dry skin, you want to have moist and less dry skin that looks succulent and moisturized.  This is best done with Rose hip seed oil, primrose oil, and kukui oil, among many others.

These are just a few of the important reasons why you want to only and always use organic skin care.  Oh, did I mention support us USDA certified organic growers?  Another darn good reason!

The main reason you want to use organic skin care is because it works!  It will give you the results you want in a skin care product.  Mother Nature is the best cure for Father time, period!  Organic skin care contains all the plant chemicals that are naturally occurring in nature.  Mother Nature is the most powerful force on planet Earth, period!
